This lovely unusual art glass vase is by Jan Baranek, for Chribska, and is from a collection in their production in the 1960’s. Art glass has become highly collectable of late and finding the more unusual pieces is harder to find. The knobbly vase has an eye striking form. It gives the perception that it is melting from the top of the vase and descending to the bottom with free movement. As it meanders down the glass looks alive. The colour combination is beautiful and adds even more intrigue to its appearance. A burnt amber hue rests on the whole body of the vase and is depicted at the very rim and knobbly protrusions in a gorgeous blue hue.
This is a collectors piece and would look great either on its own or assembled with a collection art glass of varying heights and shapes to compliment it. Art glass makes a great gift.
